I heard about your chance to have a table on display during an open house.
What a great opportunity to use our poster/banner!
Right now the banner is near the back of the office, pulled out and displayed. You'll have to put it down to transport it safely.
1. To retract, first rotate the bottom feet so that it is parallel to the base of the metal housing (this is so that you can tip the poster back with ease if you're not very tall).
2. Stand behind the poster (meaning stand on the side without print)
3. Tip the poster towards you.
4. Grasp the top of the poster firmly with your left hand, hold onto the center pole with your right hand(ie. don't let go with the left hand till it's back into it's metal housing - I under-estimated the force of retraction and let it go, causing the poster to rip - no big deal, we'll just get another one).
5. First pull the top of the poster up/out a bit so that it unhooks from the center pole - it would be helpful if there was someone else here to make sure it unhooks easily.
6. Slowly let the metal housing retract the poster by itself.
7. Take the center pole out and take it apart by pulling it apart and folding it into 3.
8. You could put the center pole into the bottom of the metal housing, but this is a little hard to do - you can just take the center pole separately.
Practice it a few times. If you break it... I'll consider it a risk worth taking for this great opportunity. So don't think it's a life and death situation if the poster falls apart or breaks.
Have fun!
Same warning here... grasp the poster firmly when pulling it up. Letting go of it is where problems would occur with the poster/banner.
I had to practice with it a few times. The mistake I made once was accidentally letting go of the top part of the banner (and it caused it to rip) - it retracted too quickly. Have fun. Don't hurt yourself. If you have any questions... Ask our friendly Alphgraphics Modesto representative:

He came by to our office a few times to help with our banners. You might even want to go to their office and watch them demo it. Their office is by the Modesto Costco area of town.
