{"id":718,"date":"2013-06-10T01:59:31","date_gmt":"2013-06-10T01:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surgerytoday.com\/education\/?p=718"},"modified":"2013-06-12T05:39:24","modified_gmt":"2013-06-12T05:39:24","slug":"hot-weather-in-modesto-and-solar-panels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/surgerytoday.com\/education\/hot-weather-in-modesto-and-solar-panels\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot weather in Modesto and Solar Panels"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Hot temperatures can decrease the efficiency of Solar panels.<\/h3>\n<p>Modesto gets really hot. \u00a0I initially thought the opposite. \u00a0I thought our hot temperatures were <em>perfect<\/em> for solar panels. \u00a0Not entirely so.<\/p>\n<p>I have three days to compare:<\/p>\n<p>6\/7\/13 &#8211; warm, <strong>60.3 kW<\/strong>h made by our solar panels<\/p>\n<p>6\/8\/13 &#8211; HOT over 100 F, <strong>58.9 kWh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6\/9\/13 &#8211; warm, 58.3 kWh<\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s similar for other pieces of electronics. \u00a0I&#8217;ve noticed that if I leave my ipad out int he sun, it actually turns to a warning screen about the temperature and inactivates itself until the temperature is cooler. \u00a0I&#8217;ve had this happen when we&#8217;ve gone to marathon expo&#8217;s where we&#8217;ve been promoting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.surgicalartistrymarathon.com\/\">Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon<\/a> and selling <a href=\"https:\/\/surgerytoday.com\/running-compression-socks\/\">running compression socks<\/a>, sometimes the expo is out in the sun, and if I don&#8217;t keep the iPad in a shaded spot, it gets to a point with the temperature where it doesn&#8217;t work anymore, and shows a &#8220;face&#8221; on the screen. \u00a0The black cover that I have for the iPad doesn&#8217;t help either.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hot temperatures can decrease the efficiency of Solar panels.
